Customers and service locations

Start with the people and places your business serves.

What information do I need to add a customer?+

Only a customer name and primary service address are required. Phone, email, access instructions, city, state, and postal code are optional and can be added later.

Can a customer have more than one service?+

Yes. Open Customers, find the customer, and choose Add service. Each service keeps its own schedule, price, notes, and employee assignment.

Where does the location preview come from?+

RouteRoutine generates a Google Maps satellite image centered on the full service address and saves the unmodified image for that location under RouteRoutine’s applicable Google Maps permission. If the pin is wrong, edit the customer address. An administrator can replace the map with a private custom location photo.

Services and recurring work

Turn the work you already do into a reliable schedule.

How does a recurring service work?+

Choose a start date and a cadence such as weekly, every few weeks, monthly, quarterly, or yearly. RouteRoutine creates the future visits while keeping the original cadence as the source of truth.

What is the difference between a service and a visit?+

A service is the repeating plan for a customer. A visit is one scheduled occurrence of that plan. Editing one visit does not change the remaining recurring schedule unless you explicitly edit the service and future visits.

Can I add work that happens only once?+

Yes. Choose One-time when adding the service. RouteRoutine creates a single visit without generating a recurring series.

Daily routes and schedule changes

Keep today clear even when plans change.

What happens when I move an entire day?+

Only the selected open visits move to the new date. Their original recurring cadence stays intact, so next week or next month does not drift.

Does skipping a visit cancel the recurring service?+

No. Skipping marks only that visit. Future visits remain scheduled, and the skipped visit stays in history so you have a complete record.

Completion notes and photos

Leave useful context for the next visit.

Do I have to add notes or photos to complete a visit?+

No. You can complete a visit immediately. Notes and photos are optional and are saved with that customer’s service history when you need them.

Who can see completion history?+

Authorized users in the same workspace can see relevant service history. RouteRoutine does not contact or market to your customers using the details you store.

Team access

Give each employee the part of the schedule they need.

What can employees see?+

Employees see visits assigned to them and can update the work they are responsible for. Administrators can optionally allow employees to create one-time or recurring jobs for existing customers; those jobs are always assigned to the employee who creates them. Administrators retain customer, team, template, and billing controls.

Can I reassign a service later?+

Yes. Edit the service, choose another active team member, and apply the change to future open visits. Completed history remains unchanged.

Trials and billing

Understand when billing starts and where to manage it.

When does RouteRoutine charge my payment method?+

The standard free trial lasts 30 days. If you select a plan during the trial, Stripe stores the payment method and schedules the first charge for the end of the trial.

Where can I cancel or update payment details?+

A workspace administrator can choose Manage billing in the dashboard. Stripe’s secure billing portal handles payment methods, invoices, and cancellation.

What is included in Premium?+

Monthly and yearly Premium plans support up to 10 team members, with as many customers and recurring services as you please. Teams with more than 10 members can contact support so we can find the right fit.
